Kaagman and Green in contention for September WSL honours

Albion pair nominated for awards.

Kayleigh Green scored a superb goal in the 5-0 win over Birmingham City.

Albion have received a double nomination in the September awards for the Barclays FA Women’s Super League.

Kayleigh Green’s fantastic long-range effort in the 5-0 win over Birmingham City is one of the contenders for Goal of the Month.

Inessa Kaagman has been nominated for Player of the Month after scoring against Birmingham and in the 2-0 win over West Ham United. She also assisted Emma Koivisto’s first goal for the club at St Andrew’s.

Other Player of the Month nominees are Aston Villa’s Remi Allen, Chelsea pair Sam Kerr and Fran Kirby, Arsenal’s Beth Mead and Vivianne Meidema and Tottenham’s Shelina Zadorsky.

The other Goal of the Month contenders are Ona Batile (Manchester United), Sarah Mayling (Aston Villa), Mead, Kirby, Everton’s Hanna Bennison and Pernile Harder of Chelsea.

Voting for the awards is now open and closes at 12 noon on Monday.
