Marc Cucurella believes as he builds up his minutes in the Premier League supporters will see him continue to improve.
The 23-year-old has enjoyed back-to-back wins in his first two games since joining on transfer deadline day from La Liga side Getafe [Hyperlink].
But the frantic pace of the Premier League is something the Spain international is having to adjust to.
“For the moment, I’m finishing matches absolutely exhausted as I went a long time without playing 90 minutes. But I think ending the game so tired shows you have left everything out on the pitch. I tried to give everything for my teammates and after a win the tiredness goes more quickly.
“The first game is always difficult – Brentford was a hard game and the tempo was high. I was getting used to the league, my teammates.
“There were a couple of times when I lost the ball and I need to do better in those situations, but it was good to get the win.”
Cucurella insists Albion need to keep their ‘feet on the ground’ after their best start to a Premier League campaign.
“We don’t tend to look at the league table. Our aim is to just keep winning games and be as high as we can, the standard is so high.
“Our start to the season has been spectacular but we will keep working, keep our feet on the ground and keep going as we are, which is really good.”
Cucurella’s settling in period on the south coast has been made easier by the presence of first team coach and fellow Spaniard Bruno.
“His family have been really good. They have been through the same situation as us so we can ask them about everything. I didn’t realise but Bruno’s parents are from the same small town as me, so we have something in common.
“We were in a hotel to start with but have found somewhere to live now and we moved in during the week before the Leicester game. That is a really good step towards settling in and we are really enjoying the city of Brighton.”
