Graham Potter's men have now won four of their opening five Premier League matches.

Graham Potter believes Albion are showing a new side to their game after securing a 2-1 win against Leicester City at the Amex on Sunday.

The head coach watched his team drop 25 points from winning positions last season, but Albion showed their mettle against the Foxes by digging in to protect their 2-1 lead during a late barrage from the visitors.

“The atmosphere was amazing – the supporters were tremendous and so were the players, especially in the first half. I thought we did a lot of things really well, I was proud of them,” said Potter.

Albion's victory over Leicester City moves them up to third in the Premier League.

“It changed the complexion a little bit when Leicester scored because you know they’re going to throw everything at you. I don’t think we would have won the game this time last year, but we managed to hang on, got a bit of luck and took all three points.

“In the Premier League against the top teams – and Leicester are a top team – you can’t just do one thing right, you have to do everything right. You have to attack and defend well, as well as get a bit of luck. We survived a couple of close calls today which you need to do in the Premier League to get over the line.”

Neal Maupay and Danny Welbeck’s goals took Albion’s tally to 12 from five games.

“I said to the guys it’s five wins out of six in all competitions. We’re not getting carried away because the margins are so small and we weren’t completely dominant is the game but I am proud of them.”

Marc Cucurella was selected by match sponsors Gap Solutions as Man of the Match on his home debut, and the Spaniard has impressed Potter since his summer arrival from Getafe. “You saw what he’s about, his personality and character and quality. I am delighted for him.”
