Successful weekend for Albion's internationals

Big wins in World Cup Qualifiers.

Leo Trossard has played in both of Belgium's matches during this international break.

Robert Sanchez made his international debut for Spain on Sunday in a 4-0 win over Georgia.

The goalkeeper came on for the final 15 minutes in place of Unai Simon, as Luis Enrique’s side moved to the top of Group B.

Enock Mwepu captained and scored for Zambia as they kicked off their World Cup Qualifiers with a 2-1 win over Mauritania.

The 23-year-old opened the scoring after ten minutes with a low drive into the bottom left corner – his fourth goal for his country – before Prince Mumba added a second for the visitors. Mauritania pulled one back with 20 minutes to play, but Zambia held on for their first win in Group B.

Andi Zeqiri made his competitive debut for Switzerland – having made his first appearance for his country in friendly win over Greece last week – as they secured a point against European champions Italy.

The striker, who is spending the campaign on loan in the Bundesliga with Augsburg, came on for the final five minutes in the 0-0 draw.

Shane Duffy headed in a vital equaliser for the Republic of Ireland in their 1-1 draw with Azerbaijan – Aaron Connolly and Jayson Molumby also started the game for Stephen Kenny’s men.

Jakub Moder started for Poland in their 7-1 demolition of San Marino, while Leo Trossard played the final 20 minutes for Belgium as they comfortably defeated Czech Republic 3-0.

Finally, 16-year-old Evan Ferguson made his debut for the Republic of Ireland Under-21s, coming on for the final ten minutes against Bosnia.

Jim Crawford’s team ran out 2-0 winners.
