Fran Stenson has also played for Manchester City and Blackburn Rovers.

Brighton & Hove Albion are pleased to confirm goalkeeper Fran Stenson has joined the club on a season-long loan from Arsenal, subject to FA ratification.

The 20-year-old former England under-17 international started her career at Birmingham City and made her Women’s Super League debut in 2017.

After a season at Manchester City, Stenson signed for Arsenal in 2019 and has since had two spells on loan in the Championship with Blackburn Rovers.

Head coach Hope Powell said, “We’re delighted to welcome Fran to the club. She has all the attributes to be a top goalkeeper and she has come here to compete for a place with Megan Walsh.

“She is at the stage of her career when she needs game time to develop. She knows she will have to work hard to get that at Brighton, but she wants to learn and improve and we’re looking forward to working with her this season.”
