Albion were narrowly beaten 1-0 by Leicester.

Albion under-18s suffered a 1-0 defeat at home to Leicester City on Saturday.

The visitors took the lead through Jack Butterfill shortly before half-time, as Albion struggled to get out of the starting blocks.

Albion improved after the break, but weren’t able to overturn the deficit.

Professional development phase coach James Baxter said, “We can’t start as we did and expect to get anything, it took until the beginning of the second half to find the levels we are capable of.

“There was a good reaction from the boys at half-time once we’d had a chat about what is expected from them and we put in a much better showing.

“We left ourselves with too much to do though. We created chances, but we didn’t test their goalkeeper as much as we would have liked to.

“We will build from the second half though and the positive is they recognised where they needed to get things right. Even though we weren’t at our best it was still a relatively even game.”
