Solly March has been impressed by Albion's early season form.

Solly March says Albion’s efficiency in executing their game plan has helped the side chalk up maximum points from their first two Premier League games.

The 2-0 win against Watford – following victory on the opening day at Burnley – was the first time Albion had won their two opening games in the top flight, and March is delighted to see the side working so well as a unit.

“It’s a fantastic start – we couldn’t have asked for anymore,” he said. “We’ve stuck to what we’ve been doing before but our game plan’s maybe working better than it did last season – and that’s down to us putting in the work and taking our chances.

“They [Watford] came out in the second half and put pressure on us, but in the Premier League you’re going to have periods when that happens. We managed that really well though which is something we might not have done last season. That shows us growing as a team – now we’ve now just got to push on, keep scoring goals and winning games.”

March has also made an impressive start, having missed the final three months of the previous campaign with a knee injury. The wing-back has played every minute of the opening two fixtures and feels he is only going to get stronger as the weeks pass.

“I’ve got through two 90 minutes of football,” he added. “I’ve grown into it so far. The Watford game was a step up from the first game but I’ve been out a long time. It’s going to take a bit of time to get into my stride and have that confidence in my body again. I’ve just got to keep getting through the games and building on my performances.”

March was also delighted to see the fans back at the Amex on Saturday, with a crowd of over 29,000, the biggest since the visit of Crystal Palace in February 2020.

“It’s a nice feeling to have the fans back behind us, that 12th man. You need them and when they get behind you it gives you a lift and drives you forward. They’ve helped us a lot.

“It’s a great start and now we’re looking to midweek [against Cardiff in the Carabao Cup] and then next week against Everton to hopefully put nine points on the board.”
