Kayleigh Green, Aileen Whelan and Megan Connolly were key players for Albion last season.

Striker Aileen Whelan and midfielder Kayleigh Green have signed one-year contracts for the 2021/22 campaign.

In addition, Irish international Megan Connolly has signed a one-year extension to her current contract which will keep the Irish international at the club until June 2023.

All three have played an integral part in Albion’s FA Women’s Super League journey and helped Hope Powell’s side end last season in sixth place, the highest finish in the club’s history.

Whelan, who celebrated her 30th birthday earlier this month, has been ever present since joining the club in 2017 while Welsh international Green, 33, joined the club in 2018 and has made over 50 appearances for the club.

Irish international Connolly, 24, is in her third season with Albion, having previously played in the American College system.

Head coach Powell said, “Aileen, Kayleigh and Megan give us so much ability as well as a lot of experience at this level.

“They are important members of the squad, both on the pitch and in the dressing room, and I know how much they are all looking forward to helping us try and improve on what we achieved last season.”

Whelan’s contract is subject to FA and WSL clearance.

Albion kick off the new WSL season at the Amex on 5 September against West Ham United and a family of four can watch the game for just £10. Click here to buy your tickets.
