Albion's under-23s maintained their unbeaten start to pre-season with a 1-0 win over Eastbourne Borough on Friday at the American Express Elite Performance Centre.

The home side's winner came midway through the second half from one of the three trialists used by Albion boss Andrew Crofts, who fielded two separate XIs in each half.

The goal came shortly after the visitors had their best chance when they hit the bar.

Ulrick Ella twice went close against Eastbourne Borough.

In the first half Albion played at a good tempo, passed the ball well and forced Borough goalkeeper Curtis Anderson to make good saves as he denied Ulrick Ella twice while Gary Dicker headed over the target from a corner.

After they had gone in front, when our trialist produced a tidy finish from inside the box, Todd Miller had an opportunity to double Albion's advantage but fired over.
