Mark Beard became under-18s coach in 2017.

Mark Beard has left his role as Albion Under-18s coach to take up the position of assistant manager with National League outfit Stockport County.

The 46-year-old will be working with former Albion under-23s coach Simon Rusk, who took over the reins with the Hatters in February this year.

Dan Ashworth said, "Mark has done an excellent job with the under-18s, and this comes on the back of a really good season.

"We are disappointed to see him leave, but full appreciate the opportunity this is for him on a personal level.

"On behalf of everyone at the club, I would like to thank him for what he has done for the club and wish Mark the best of luck in his new role."

Beard joined Albion initially in 2014, before working his way up the academy age groups, becoming under-18s boss in 2017.

He oversaw a third-place finish in Premier League South last year, as well as guiding the under-17s to the Premier League Cup title, thanks to a 2-0 win over Middlesbrough in the final at the Riverside.
