Lewis Dunk was a proud skipper after being voted Players’ Player of the Season by his Albion team-mates at the end of season awards, sponsored by American Express.
He believes the accolade recognises his consistent performances as Albion secured another season in the Premier League.
“For your teammates to vote for you, I think it’s the best award you can win,” said Dunk.
“Personally, it’s been my best year. My style suits the way the manager wants to play, and I have been pretty consistent.
“As a team we probably didn’t get the points we deserved but we’ve got a good base to work on for next season.”
The women’s Players’ Player accolade went to Dutch midfielder Inessa Kaagman, who finished top scorer with eight goals as Albion achieved their highest finish in the Women’s Super League.
“We’re so close as a squad, it’s such a nice environment and to get the recognition from your own team-mates was special,” said Kaagman.
The men’s Player of the Year award, which is voted by the fans, was won by Ben White. The 23-year-old was embarking on his first season in the top-flight back in September but has finished it an England international after making his debut in last week’s friendly against Austria.

“My debut against Chelsea was an unbelievable moment personally, something I’ve dreamed of for my entire life,” said White. “But Manchester City game at home with fans back was an incredible moment. Thank you to everyone who voted, I appreciate all of your support.”
The women’s award went to Aileen Whelan, who had another consistent campaign and helped Albion to sixth in the Women’s Super League, their best finish.
She said, ““I must admit I wasn’t expecting the award at all, so I’m honoured. It’s voted for by the fans, so it means a lot. Hopefully, we will see you again in the stadium next season and we can say thank you in person for your support.”
The respective goals of the season were won by Danny Welbeck, for his brilliant finish in the crucial 2-0 home win over Leeds United, and Geum-Min Lee, who scored a spectacular effort from 40 yards against Reading.
The other award winners were: Young Players of the Season: Carl Rushworth, Maya Le Tissier; Albion in the Community Award: Scott Snelling; James Brynin Fan of the Season Award Nat Ellis, and her three children - Izzy Humphrey, Demi Mills, Bobby Charman; Sarah Watts Inspiration Award: Liz Costa
