Jakub Moder is all smiles for the camera.

Jakub Moder believes starting the season at Lech Poznan before switching to Albion in January has helped him adapt quickly to life in the Premier League.

The midfielder played on loan before moving to Albion on a permanent basis in January and says it was a big benefit to him.

He said, “I’m a big fan of the Premier League so when I signed for Brighton I began to take more of an interest in the players and I was always in contact with the staff at the club as well. But it was good for me to be able to stay in Poland because it was important for me to help Poznan.

“After I signed, I watched every Brighton game for the next six months.

“It also gave me the chance to get to know more about the club and it has worked well for everybody.”

Moder will be hoping to be involved against Everton tonight at the Amex after some impressive recent performances.

He also spoke candidly about what it has been like learning a new language in a different country during the pandemic.

“I studied a little bit when I signed but English is taught in Polish schools too, so it wasn’t like I was starting from the beginning.

“But because of those lessons I would say my English is better than six months ago although I am still learning.

“It’s been different because of the pandemic - there isn’t much to go and do but I am here with my girlfriend so it has been quite good.

“Brighton is a good place to live, especially in the summer with the weather - that’s what people here tell me anyway! In a few months hopefully I can learn a bit more about the city and Sussex."
