Leandro Trossard celebrates his goal against Southampton.

Leandro Trossard is enjoying his football for club and country at the moment.

The 26-year-old has been in fine form in recent weeks, scoring against Southampton and Newcastle United last month before netting his first two goals for Belgium during the latest international break.

He said, “I feel like I have had a good season overall. The goals and assists weren’t there at the beginning but they’re coming now and I’m happy with that.

“The more you play in a certain system the better you feel and it is going well for me at the moment. I will try to maintain my good form."

The Belgian also praised head coach Graham Potter, revealing he’d spoken with the boss before last month’s victory over Southampton.

“The manager is really good with people and speaks a lot to the players.

“Before the Southampton game we had a chat about how I could help the team more by scoring goals and assisting - from that moment all of those things came!

“Of course, you need a bit of luck as well, but it’s about getting in those right positions and then taking the chances when they come.”

Trossard says the mood in the Albion dressing room remains positive despite last Sunday’s 2-1 defeat to Manchester United.

Everton are at the Amex on Monday for our next fixture.

“The result against Manchester United wasn't the best for us, but we played well especially in the first half and we maybe could have scored more goals.

“But in general everyone in our squad is feeling positive and that's the most important thing. The confidence is there, we will keep going now for the last eight games.”
