Reda Khadra is all smiles as he warms up away to Manchester City.

Reda Khadra says he's delighted to have put pen to paper on a new two-year deal with the club this week.

The former Borussia Dortmund man joined Albion at the start of last October, scoring his first goals for the under-23s against West Ham and Liverpool that same month and then breaking into the senior setup at the start of 2021.

He said, “I’m delighted with the new deal at this great club, I knew it was the right one for me because of the chances you get as a young player.

“I just want to keep pushing on and developing now that I have the new contract.

“My aim is to keep performing well with the under-23s and make that breakthrough regularly into the first team. I know I will have to keep working hard for that to happen.

“Everyone here has been fantastic so far, all of the coaches at the club have made it easy to settle into a new country at a difficult time for everyone with the COVID situation and I am very grateful.”

Khadra was then involved in the first team squad for the league games with Manchester City and Leeds United back in January earlier this year, making a substitute appearance in the former for his Premier League debut.

“I didn’t expect that involvement to come that quickly to be honest, but of course it was great for me.

“I trained with the likes of Leandro Trossard and Danny Welbeck who are both attacking players, just to be in that environment with those sorts of players will really help me as a player going forward.

“The conversations I had with Graham Potter, Billy Reid and all the coaching staff are really good, and I know this is the right environment for me to keep getting better and make progress.”

The attacker is currently sidelined through an ankle injury, but anticipates he’ll be back out on the field in the next few weeks.

“I feel really good and fit at the moment, once I am back from my injury, I want to get a really good pre-season under my belt and kick on from there.”
