Leandro Trossard's brilliant goal gave Albion the lead their play had deserved.

Leandro Trossard said Danny Welbeck had all the inspiration he needed for his goal after watching the Belgian fire home in similar fashion earlier in the 3-0 win against Newcastle.

The 26-year-old gave Albion the opener their play richly deserved just before half-time with a lovely strike from 20 yards, before Welbeck found the back of the net shortly after the restart from similar distance.

“Danny copied my goal! I like playing alongside him, his experience helps us a lot. The three of us [Trossard, Welbeck and Neal Maupay] click really well up front and it’s going well at the moment and we want it to continue.

Neal Maupay acrobatically fired in a third on the night for Albion.

“Every striker wants to score goals, it brings confidence and Neal has had to wait a while to add to his tally. I am pleased that he got to do that.”

The victory marks back-to-back wins for Albion having defeated Southampton 2–1 last Sunday.

“Every time you win a game it's nice, especially when you start stringing them together. We can have a good break now before we return for the final nine games.

Leandro Trossard opened the scoring in fantastic fashion with a curling effort into the bottom corner.

“It's a massive win, especially with the performance level and as a team we're delighted to score three. It’s wonderful, it was a really good game for us in every aspect and we can enjoy this one.

“I am really happy, I have been trying to help the team with goals and assists and I am glad that I've been able to do that.

“It's a really nice team to play in when we move the ball like we did.”
