Graham Potter has confirmed that Tariq Lamptey will undergo surgery on a hamstring injury.

Albion will be hoping to get back on track in the Premier League when they head to face Southampton on Sunday lunchtime, kick-off 12pm. The match is live on BBC One.

Last time out Albion were on the end of a late 2-1 defeat to Leicester City at the Amex Stadium.

Adam Lallana netted his first goal for the club early on, but the Foxes turned the game around after the break and sealed victory with Daniel Amartey's late goal.

Southampton were 2-0 winners away to Sheffield United last Saturday as goals from James Ward-Prowse and Che Adams secured their first win since the start of January. They were beaten on Wednesday night though at Manchester City, with Kevin De Bruyne and Riyad Mahrez both grabbing braces in a 5-2 win for Pep Guardiola's men.

The Saints claimed the three points when these two teams last met back in December in front of 2000 fans at the Amex with a 2-1 victory. The meeting at St Mary's last season ended in a 1-1 draw.

Highlights: Southampton 1 Albion 1

Albion and Southampton have played each other 74 times dating back to 1903.

Albion's last win over Southampton came in 2012 when a goal from Jake Forster-Caskey and a brace from Matt Sparrow gave Albion victory at the Amex. Adam Lallana was on the opposing side that day.

The last game between the two teams at St Mary's last July saw Neal Maupay give Albion the lead before Danny Ings levelled after the restart in a 1-1 draw.

The Southampton Player to Watch…

By James Boardman
Che Adams goes up against Lewis Dunk in Albion's last meeting with the Saints.

Che Adams is likely lead the home side’s attack in the absence of top scorer Danny Ings this Sunday.

The former Birmingham City man has five goals in 30 appearances in all competitions so far this term, including Saints’ second goal in the win over Sheffield United last Saturday.

That goal against the Blades was the fourth time the striker has netted against his former club and he’ll no doubt be looking to add to that volley this Sunday.
