Dunk: We have to move forward

Lewis Dunk is confident Albion can improve in front of goal and climb the Premier League table.

After going six matches unbeaten, successive defeats have left Albion looking over their shoulder following the 1-0 loss at West Brom on Saturday.

Dunk was involved in a hugely controversial moment in the first half when his free kick was disallowed, allowed and then disallowed by VAR official Simon Hooper.

Albion missed two penalties and had 20 shots but failed to get past West Brom keeper Sam Johnstone.

“The problem we have is not putting it in the back of the net and you're not going to win unless you do that,” he said.

“We're putting in good performances, we're not getting what we deserve – but if we don't score, we can't win the game.

“We're working hard and showing we're a good team, but it's frustrating after the Crystal Palace result and now this one. We've got to keep moving because it doesn't help to dwell on the past - we look ahead to next Saturday against Leicester City now.”

Albion remain four points clear of the relegation zone but a battle to survive in the top flight is not a new thing for Dunk.

“It's tough but we've been in the same position for four seasons now. We've all been there fighting for our lives to stay in the Premier League. We know what it takes, we've got to make sure we do it again. We know what we've got in the dressing room and we're confident to can climb the table and hopefully these performances into results.”
