Albion under-23s will try to put their first loss under interim head coaches Shannon Ruth and Andrew Crofts behind them quickly.
Ruth was pleased with the resilience his side showed against Manchester City on Friday after they conceded two penalties before the Premier League 2 leaders made the points safe with a third goal in stoppage time.
“It was a really tough game for us,” he said. “The players worked hard, especially out of possession. They stuck to what we tried to do, and we had a few good moments when we turned the ball over and counter-attacked.

“The 3-1 score was a little bit harsh, with two penalties going against us, but I was pleased with the endeavour and commitment. We went behind early but we found some courage and scored the best goal of the game. At 2-1 we kept going and found some belief so credit to the group.
Moises Caicedo made his Albion debut and defender Michal Karbownik, who made his first-team debut in the FA Cup earlier this month, both impressed Ruth, who says they are a yardstick for the other players trying to break into Graham Potter's side.
“Their attitude was excellent, they slipped into the group really well. It's always a massive boost when we get a couple of senior players in the group. They are of a similar age so the others can see why they might be a bit further forward in their careers. You saw their quality, they are fantastic additions to the football club.”
Albion return to action on Sunday with a trip to Chelsea (2pm). “We're working hard to try and finish the season strongly,” added Ruth.
