Andrew Crofts wants his team to continue their unbeaten run since he took over.

Andrew Crofts says Albion's youngsters will approach today's game against Manchester City full of confidence after a good recent run of results.

Albion beat West Ham 6-1 earlier this month before drawing 1-1 with Leicester City on Monday evening.

He said, “We're really looking forward to the game and it will be a different test to the one which we faced against Leicester on Monday.

Carl Rushworth and Antef Tsoungui show their delight after the 6-1 victory over West Ham.

“They're rightly top of the league and we know we’ll have to match their intensity and quality, but I'm sure the lads will give everything to do that after our recent positive results.”

Crofts returned to the club for a third spell in July 2019 as a player-coach with the under-23s and has recently been placed in joint charge of the team following Simon Rusk's departure to Stockport County.

“I've seen this club grow so much and I am always incredibly proud to represent it in any capacity.

“To be trying to help the next generation of players at this great football club alongside Shannon Ruth and the rest of the staff is something I’m thoroughly enjoying.

Jensen Weir has been one of the first names in the Albion starting XI this season.

“There is so much drive and ambition by everyone to take the club forward and I feel very lucky to have been able to see a lot of that journey so far.

“I want to keep learning and growing as a person and coach and to try and encourage this next group of players to be the best that they can be every day.

“Sometimes that can be tough because there will always be obstacles, but we want to help them in any way we can and hopefully they'll continue to learn and progress.”
