Jakub Moder believes compatriot Michal Karbownik could become a very good player for both Albion and Poland.
The pair signed for Albion in October, before heading back on loan to Legia Warsaw and Lech Poznan respectively until January.
They made their senior Poland debuts before being recalled by Albion last month and made their club debuts in the 1-0 defeat to Leicester City in the Emirates FA Cup on Wednesday.
The two know each other from their time in the Ekstraklasa (Polish League) as well as playing together for their country.
“Michal is thought of as a big talent in Poland,” said Moder.
“He's a few years younger than me, but it's good to have a Polish friend at a foreign club.
“He won the league last season in what was a big year for him, I am sure he will want to help Brighton have success.”
The 21-year-old is anticipating Karbownik will find another level to his game with Albion.
“He's only 19, but he can make big progress with Brighton. He's in the best league in the world and just by being here it shows that he has a lot of potential.
“He could be a very good player in the future for the national team. He can play in a few different positions which will help the team.”
