Bruno acknowledges the fans after his final game for the club.

Brighton & Hove Albion have confirmed their home friendly ahead of the new season will be against La Liga side Valencia and that the game will be a special tribute match in honour of the club’s former captain Bruno.

Fans will have the chance to pay tribute to club legend Bruno - recently appointed as a senior player development coach - on Friday 2nd August, with the match kicking off at 7pm. Ticket details can be found below.

As the final warm-up game of pre-season, the match will also be Graham Potter’s first taste of the Amex as Albion boss.

As part of this tribute match the club will be donating 25% of the net gate receipt to local charities, to be selected by Bruno.

Bruno joined Albion in 2012 from Valencia — where he played for three years of his career — and spent seven seasons with Albion, playing an instrumental part in helping the club win promotion to the Premier League in May 2017.

Later that year Bruno signed up to Juan Mata’s Common Goal project, pledging 1% of his salary to charity.

Bruno said, “It’s going to be a really special day at the Amex again. To have Valencia here, a massive team, it’s going to be an amazing pre-season game, and very special for me.

“Giving the donations to charities and being involved in the community is really important for the club and myself."

The club will also be offering fans the opportunity to add a further optional donation towards Bruno’s charity fund when purchasing their match tickets.
