Fan Stories: Ross Steele

By Steph Howe • 06 June 2019

Lifelong Seagulls fan Ross Steele has taken his love for the club’s blue and white stripes to a whole new level by decorating his entire flat in Albion colours.

He explained that the transformation began when he decided to redecorate his kitchen and try something a little different to the norm.

“I was asked what colours I liked, and I told them I was an Albion fan and I like blue and white,” Ross began.

“It was then suggested that I had the top cupboards in white and the bottom ones in blue, and from then it spiralled a little bit out of control, and I got a bit carried away!”

Ross explained that after the cupboards, he then chose blue and white as the tile colours in the kitchen and moved onto painting the walls blue in the lounge, but that they were nothing compared to his bedroom décor.

“The lounge and kitchen are both subtler than the bedroom, which is a little bit over the top,” he continued.

Ross admitted that the decorating came as no surprise to his friends or family, given his love for the Albion, and he even plans to continue to transform his flat over the coming months.

“Everyone finds it quite amusing; my friends think because I’ve got blue and white stripes in the bedroom that I’ve got a bit of a kid’s bedroom,” he joked.

“I have a friend who carved a seagull onto the new cupboard I’ve put up, and we’re now thinking about carving Albion’s crest onto some wood and putting it on my bedroom wall. So that is a future project that is going to happen.”
