Baluta Set To Face England This Evening

By Alex Stedman • 21 June 2019

Brighton & Hove Albion and Romania midfielder Tudor Baluta is set to take on England in the UEFA U21 European Championships this evening, kick-off 5.30pm.

The 20-year-old was on the scoresheet on Tuesday night when Romania beat Croatia 4-1 in their opening group game, capping an impressive performance with a 66th minute goal.

Aidy Boothroyd’s men now provide the next opposition for the Romanians, with the young Three Lions looking to bounce back from a 2-1 defeat to France earlier in the week.

Baluta joined Albion in January on a three-year deal before returning to Romanian top-flight club FC Viitorul Constanta for the remainder of the 2018/19 campaign.

The midfielder made a total of 34 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring twice, and played an integral role in FC Viitorul earning a spot in the Europa League second qualifying round stage for next season.
