Brighton & Hove Albion under-23 midfielder Will Collar has joined Scottish Premiership club Hamilton Academical on undisclosed terms.
The 22-year-old, who made his senior debut for the Seagulls in the Carabao Cup against Southampton last season, will join up with Brian Rice’s team after the Accies secured their top-flight status.
Collar also featured ten times for Albion’s under-23s in the Premier League 2 Division 1, helping Simon Rusk’s side to a third-placed finish after winning promotion from the second tier in 2018.
Rusk said, “I’d like to thank Will for all his efforts during his time at the club — he became an important member of our under-23 team after progressing through the youth ranks.
“Will has always set a great example with his attitude and application, and he’ll certainly be leaving the club in a better position than when he first joined.
“This move to Hamilton provides an exciting opportunity for Will to build a career at senior level, and we wish him the best of luck in Scotland.”
Collar first joined the Seagulls in May 2007 at the age of ten, and over the 12 years that followed he worked his way up the age groups to eventually captain the club’s under-23 team on numerous occasions.
