Brighton & Hove Albion striker Florin Andone says that the side must remain grounded and focused ahead of the new Premier League campaign.
The Romanian looked ahead to what will be his second and the club’s third season in the top-flight and previewed the new year from both a collective and personal perspective.
He said, “Our first aim has to be to stay in this league and be humble, after that if it’s possible to get something more then of course we’ll try to do it.
“We have to take it step by step and one game at a time, but let’s see what we can do.
“Personally, for me it’s about having a good pre-season because I didn’t get that last year. It’s about working as much as possible to play as many games as I can.”
The forward also praised the club’s fanbase for the help they gave him during the previous season, and he stressed his desire to return the favour for their support so far.
“The fans have always been great for me and helped, and I think I felt a good relationship with them straight away,” he continued.
“I like to give something back to them and now I want to give them more goals and more good moments like I had last season when I was able to play.
“We will see how it goes but we need to work hard and start well.”
