U18 Preview: Albion Face Manchester United

By Alex Stedman • 21 January 2019

Brighton & Hove Albion’s under-18s face Manchester United in the fourth round of the FA Youth Cup tonight at Leigh Sports Village, kick-off 7pm.

Mark Beard and Mikey Harris’s side booked their place in the next stage of the competition after a memorable 5-4 penalty shootout win over West Ham United last month.

Amadou Diallo had given the home side the lead in East London, before Danny Cahsman drew the Seagulls back on level terms shortly into the second half – the sides couldn’t be separated at the end of 90 minutes or extra time, and Roco Rees saved the decisive spot-kick to send Albion through.

This evening’s opposition, managed by Neil Ryan, beat Chelsea 4-3 in similarly dramatic fashion in round three, with Mason Greenwood grabbing a hat-trick and Di’Shon Bernard also getting himself on the scoresheet to set up tonight’s tie in the north west.

Entry to tonight’s game is FREE for all supporters.
