Albion under-23 goalkeeper Robert Sanchez returns to the south coast.

Brighton & Hove Albion have recalled under-23 goalkeeper Robert Sanchez from his loan at Forest Green Rovers, with a view of providing additional cover for David Button and Jason Steele.

With Maty Ryan away at the Asian Cup, Sanchez returns to provide further cover for Albion’s first-team goalkeepers alongside fellow under-23 shot-stopper Hugo Keto.

Albion manager Chris Hughton said, “Robert has enjoyed a beneficial period on loan at Forest Green, where he has been able to pick up valuable experience at senior level.

“However, with Maty away on international duty, it’s necessary for us to recall Robert from his loan spell, as we look to provide support for both David and Jason over the coming weeks.”

The Spaniard made 17 appearances for Mark Cooper’s side this season, helping the Green Army to fifth position in Sky Bet League Two, as they continue their push for promotion.

Sanchez’s last appearance for the Gloucestershire club came in a dramatic 2-1 victory over Yeovil Town, which included two stoppage-time strikes from Rovers at Huish Park.
