Brighton & Hove Albion’s under-23s host Tottenham Hotspur at the American Express Elite Football Performance Centre this afternoon, kick-off 2pm.

The fixture, which was moved forward from Monday evening to Sunday afternoon, will see Simon Rusk’s team come up against the north London club for the second time this season, following the 1-1 draw between the sides back in August.

The Seagulls currently sit just four points off top spot in the Premier League 2 Division 1, and six points ahead of today’s visitors, who have taken 18 points from 15 matches and occupy ninth position in the league table.

Albion are unbeaten in their previous three league fixtures, a run which includes a 4-2 victory over West Ham United towards the end of 2018 and consecutive draws against Arsenal and Liverpool.

Spurs boast a run of five unbeaten matches, but four of those games have been draws, either side of an impressive 2-1 victory at Manchester City midway through December.

Viktor Gyokeres opened the scoring in the reverse fixture at the Lamex Stadium earlier this season, but Shayon Harrison replied for the home side after the break to earn a share of the spoils.

Despite a positive display against Bayern Munich on Wednesday, Rusk’s team exited the Premier League International Cup after a 2-0 defeat and will be looking to provide a reaction on the south coast this afternoon.

Albion supporters can follow a live text blog from today’s game on the Match Centre, with a report and gallery to be uploaded to the website after the full-time whistle.
