Did You Know: Albion V Burnley

By James Hilsum • 08 February 2019

Brighton & Hove Albion host Burnley at the Amex Stadium on Saturday, kick-off 5.30pm.

Ahead of the contest with Sean Dyche’s side tomorrow afternoon, we’ve picked out five facts from previous meetings with the Clarets.

1.Marching Orders: Current Clarets forward Ashley Barnes was one of two Albion players sent off in a 1-0 home defeat to the Clarets in December 2011.

2.Sole Survivor: Lewis Dunk is the only Albion player remaining from the line-up in that first-ever Amex meeting between the two clubs.

3.Unbeaten Run ended: Burnley’s 1-0 win over the Seagulls in December ended the club’s eight-match unbeaten run against the Clarets, with each of the previous five meetings ending in draws.

4.Played for Both: Burnley players Barnes, Chris Wood, Stephen Ward and Sam Vokes have all previously featured for the Seagulls. Steve Penney, Kurt Nogan and Gifton Noel-Williams are among those from yesteryear that have also played for both clubs.

5.Level Pegging: Both clubs are tied on ten wins each in the overall head-to-head record, with a further 12 games ending in draws.
