ALBION FANTASY UPDATE: GAMEWEEK 26

Brighton & Hove Albion were beaten 3-1 by Burnley on Saturday evening, though the result did see another goal for the Seagulls’ second-highest FPL point-scorer.

Gameweek Review

After a clean sheet last gameweek, Albion’s defenders and goalkeeper Maty Ryan (£4.4m) were subtracted a point due to the three goals conceded against the Clarets.

Only two Brighton players were able to score more than two points in total – the creator and scorer of the second-half goal in front of the North Stand. Last week’s fantasy update hinted at Shane Duffy (£4.6m) being a likely name on the scoresheet, and so it came to pass as the defender headed Anthony Knockaert’s free-kick into the net.

Knockaert (£5.2m) received a tally of four points while Duffy racked up seven with his fifth league goal of the season.

Looking Ahead

Due to Chelsea’s commitments in the Carabao Cup Final, Chris Hughton’s side are without a fixture in Gameweek 27, though the Seagulls’ participation in a double gameweek will occur somewhere down the line once a new date for the game is confirmed.

The next league outing for Brighton will be a trip to the King Power Stadium to face Leicester City in Gameweek 28. The Foxes were defeated 2-1 by Tottenham at the weekend, and face Crystal Palace before hosting Albion.

Claude Puel’s team have kept one clean sheet in their last eight league matches, and midfield pair Pascal Gross (£6.7m) and Solly March (£4.9m) will feel they are due a goal having gone so close in Saturday’s loss.

Brighton Fan League

Amid plenty of position changes in recent weeks, David Williams and his team ‘Montreal Albion’ have managed to maintain their place at the top of the Brighton Fan League.

Healthy contributions from captain Mohamed Salah, Raheem Sterling, Paul Pogba and Sergio Aguero helped David reach 85 points in Gameweek 26.

Ulan Apsatar has kept his spot in second, while a massive 103-point return has seen Dino Papadopoulos go joint-third with 'Nemanja Dragic'.
