Shane Duffy was named the Men's Player of the Season at the Brighton & Hove Albion 2018/19 Players’ Awards.

The Irishman took the top prize after receiving 41% of the vote, ahead of Lewis Dunk in second place with 18% and Davy Propper, who took third spot with nine per cent.

Dunk didn’t end the night empty-handed though, after winning the Men’s Players’ Player of the Season award for a second consecutive season, while Aileen Whelan was named the Women’s Player of the Season.

Elsewhere, the Albion in the Community award was won by Seb Finch, a long-serving member of the Albion Powerchair team.

Aaron Connolly was the first recipient of the new American Express Elite Performance award, following his goalscoring exploits for the under-23s this season.

The James Brynin Fan of the Season award was claimed by Sam Harwood, who overcame cancer and now volunteers for a children’s cancer charity.

Next up was the award for women's goal of the season, which Dani Buet claimed for her stunning strike against Everton.

Anthony Knockaert’s excellent strike away at Crystal Palace won the men’s prize, but in an emotional acceptance speech, the winger dedicated his award to Fan of the Season winner, Harwood, after being moved by the young fan’s story.

The Sarah Watts Inspiration award went to Noah Gofur, a seven-year-old child who showed tremendous bravery and maturity by calling the police when his mum collapsed at home.

Meanwhile George Taylor won the Chairman’s award at the start of the night, before the main ceremony got underway.
