Five Brighton & Hove Albion players were in loan action over the course of the weekend, with four of them and their respective sides avoiding defeat.

In Sky Bet League Two, Steven Alzate played 79 minutes of Swindon Town’s 1-0 win away to Morecambe at the Globe Arena, as Phil Brown’s side picked up their first league win on the road this campaign.

A first-half goal from Elijah Adebayo was enough to seal victory, and despite Kyle Knoyle’s dismissal ten minutes before the break, it was a result that leaves the Robins in seventh position, just inside the play-off positions.

In the same division, Robert Sanchez and Forest Green Rovers drew 1-1 at home to Port Vale at the New Lawn, and Mark Cooper’s men occupy ninth position – two spots behind Alzate’s side.

Carl Winchester had put the home side ahead, before Tom Pope equalised from the penalty spot in the second half for the visitors - and despite Farrend Rawson being given a straight red card 14 minutes from time, the game ended all square.

In the Vanarama National League, Jordan Maguire-Drew played the entirety of Wrexham’s 1-0 win away to Braintree Town, a result which keeps the Welsh side in second place, a point behind Harrogate Town at the top of the table.

Shaun Pearson’s goal after the break proved to be the difference between the two sides at Cressing Road.

Elsewhere, Joe Tomlinson made his debut for Bognor Regis Town in the side’s 5-0 Emirates FA Cup win at Whitstable Town in the First Qualifying Round of the competition.

Billy Arce was a second-half substitute for Extremadura UD in the Segunda Division, but the Spanish club lost 3-1 at home to Granada.
