Steven Alazate celebrates scoring against Yeovil Town on Saturday.

Brighton & Hove Albion had ten loan players in action over the weekend, with Steven Alzate finding the net and both Christian Walton and Robert Sanchez keeping clean sheets.

Alzate’s 59th-minute strike was Swindon Town’s first in their 3-0 victory over Yeovil Town at Huish Park, with further goals from Matthew Taylor and Elijah Adebayo sealing the win for Phil Brown’s side.

In the Sky Bet Championship, Walton kept his third league clean sheet of the season in Wigan Athletic’s 1-0 win over Bristol City on Friday night in front of the Sky Sports cameras at the DW Stadium, and Paul Cook’s side sit in fifth place after the weekend’s matches as their good start to the campaign continues.

Oliver Norwood and Sheffield United were 3-2 winners over Preston North End in a dramatic game at Brammal Lane, with goals from Billy Sharp, Chris Basham and David McGoldrick keeping Chris Wilder’s side a place ahead of Walton and the Latics in fourth.

In the same division, Tomer Hemed and QPR fell to 1 -0 defeat to Norwich City at Loftus Road and Richie Towell and Rotherham United were on the end of the same scoreline against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.

Alzate wasn’t the only Albion face in Sky Bet League Two action over the course of the weekend, as Sanchez joined Walton in keeping a clean sheet as the Spaniard helped Forest Green Rovers to a 1-0 win over Crawley Town at the New Lawn.

In the Vanarama National League, Jordan Maguire-Drew was a second-half substitute for Wrexham in the side’s 3-0 defeat away to Sutton United – but after a strong start to the season the side still retain third place in the division.

In the Emirates FA Cup Second Qualifying Round, Joe Tomlinson and Bognor Regis Town played out a 1-1 draw against AFC Sudbury, with the tie now going to a replay

Further abroad, Percy Tau and Union St Gilloise were 2-0 winners over Tubize in the Belgian Second Division, with the South African forward playing 84 minutes of the victory on Friday evening, and Ales Mateju and Brescia drew 1-1 away to Carpi in Italy’s Serie B.
