Richie Towell celebrates scoring for Rotherham United against Stoke City.

Brighton & Hove Albion had eight loan players in action across the weekend, with Richie Towell scoring his first goal of the campaign for Rotherham United.

The midfielder found the back of the net in the Millers’ 2-2 draw with Stoke City at the New York Stadium, scoring in the 50th-minute with a close-range finish to double the home side’s advantage, before goals from Tom Ince and Bojan saw the spoils shared in Saturday’s late kick-off in the second tier.

In the same division, Oliver Norwood and Sheffield United were 3-2 winners away to Millwall at the Den, as David McGoldrick’s late brace for Chris Wilder’s side saw the Blades come back from 2-1 down to seal three points in south London.

Christian Walton and Wigan Athletic fell to a late 1-0 defeat to Norwich City at Carrow Road, whilst Tomer Hemed and QPR were on the wrong end of a 3-0 scoreline away to Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium.

In Sky Bet League Two, Robert Sanchez and Forest Green Rovers drew 1-1 away to Macclesfield Town. It was a result which saw Mark Cooper’s men continue their unbeaten league run so far this campaign, which has seen them go seven matches without defeat. Steven Alzate and Swindon Town played out a 0-0 draw at home to Oldham Athletic at the County Ground in the same tier.

In non-league, Jordan Maguire-Drew played 60 minutes of Wrexham’s 1-0 win over Barnet at the Racecourse Ground, and the side stay in fourth position in the National League. Joe Tomlinson and Bognor Regis Town played out a 2-2 stalemate away to Potters Bar Town, with the Rocks having found themselves two goals down before making a comeback.

Further abroad, Percy Tau played 86 minutes of Union Saint-Gillosie’s 3-1 win away to Leuven in the Belgian Second Division on Friday evening, thanks to a hat-trick from Youssouf Niakate - the same player who scored three goals in the side’s impressive 3-0 win away to Anderlecht in the Belgian Cup last week – a game in which Tau also featured.

Bojan Radulovic played 58 minutes for Espanyol B on Sunday afternoon, and the striker's loan club were able to secure a 2-0 victory over Ejea, with both goals coming before the Serbian's withdrawal.
