Women Preview: Albion V Reading

By Jake Ketley • 18 November 2018

Brighton & Hove Albion are back in FA Women’s Super League action this Sunday when the Seagulls entertain Reading at the Broadfield Stadium, kick-off 2pm.

Last time out Hope Powell’s side secured their first league win of the season as goals from summer signings Jodie Brett and Victoria Williams were enough to see off a spirited Yeovil Town 2-1.

Since then Albion haven’t taken to the field as they had a free weekend, due to the league's 11-team structure, followed by the international break last week.

The Seagulls take on a Reading team who lie in fifth place in the standings. So far this season, the Royals have enjoyed mixed fortunes by winning three, drawing two and losing two of their league matches played so far.

One of their highlights was keeping a clean sheet against free-scoring Manchester City in a 0-0 draw back in October.

More recently, the side come into the match following a 3-0 victory over Bristol City, with goals from Fara Williams (2) and Brooke Chaplen enough to see off the opposition.

Albion supporters can follow a live text blog on the Match Centre, with a match report to go online shortly after the full-time whistle.
