Under-23s Await Play-off Final Opponents

By Kieran Cleeves • 01 May 2018

Brighton & Hove Albion’s under-23s will find out their Premier League 2 Division 2 play-off final opponents this evening, when Aston Villa play Reading at Villa Park in the other semi-final.

The Seagulls secured their place in the final with another impressive victory on Friday evening, as Simon Rusk’s team won 3-0 against Middlesbrough at the Amex Stadium.

Henrik Bjordal’s goal and a brace from Viktor Gyokeres moved Albion one step closer to promotion, as they extended their unbeaten run - within 90 minutes - to 16 matches.

Villa, who finished second in the league table, two points ahead of the Seagulls, welcome Reading to Villa Park tonight, after the Royals secured their play-off spot on the final day of the season.

If the Villans win this evening, Albion will travel to Villa Park for the final - however if Reading come out on top, the Royals will visit the Amex Stadium for the play-off final.

The likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City await the winners of the play-offs, as Rusk’s team look to round off an impressive season with promotion to the Premier League Division 1.
