By Alex Stedman • 22 May 2018

Brighton & Hove Albion defender Shane Duffy has been named in the Republic of Ireland squad to face France and the United States in two upcoming friendly matches.

Martin O’Neill’s side will play at the Stade de France on Monday 28th May (9pm) and the Aviva Stadium in Dublin on Saturday 2nd June (8pm) respectively.

Having played out a 2-2 draw with Celtic on Sunday afternoon, the side’s other two matches act as the final preparation ahead of the UEFA Nations League opener away to Wales on 6th September.

The central defender has played eight games at international level this season, as well as making 37 Premier League appearances for Chris Hughton’s side in 2017/18.
