Sanders Receives England Under-19 Call-up

Brighton & Hove Albion under-23 midfielder Max Sanders has been called up to England’s under-19 squad for an upcoming training camp in Manchester.

The Young Lions meet up for a training camp in preparation for this summer’s UEFA European Under-19 Championship in Finland.

Sanders has been a regular in Simon Rusk’s under-23 side this season, and captained the side to victory in Saturday’s play-off final against Aston Villa at Villa Park.

The hard-working midfielder was also included in Chris Hughton's first-team squad for the Emirates FA Cup quarter-final against Manchester United at Old Trafford in March, but was an unused substitute.

The 19-year-old made 23 appearances for the Seagulls in the Premier League 2 Division 2 this season, and the midfielder’s performances have now attracted interest on the international stage.

Should Sanders impress while away on international duty, the midfielder could find himself playing at this summer’s UEFA European Under-19 Championship, as England look to win the eight-team tournament in July.
