Promotion Treble For Albion Loanees

Brighton & Hove Albion's loanees enjoyed a promotion treble at Wembley Stadium over the weekend in the EFL Play-Off finals across all three divisions.

Oliver Norwood, Richie Towell and Jordan Maguire-Drew all tasted success with Fulham, Rotherham United and Coventry City respectively at the national stadium, as the annual showpiece finals were staged in London.

On Saturday, Norwood and Fulham sealed a return to the Premier League, where they'll face Albion next season, with a 1-0 win over Aston Villa in the Sky Bet Championship final.

Tom Cairney's first-half strike proved to be the difference between the two sides as Slavisa Jokanovic's men made amends for their defeat to Reading in the semi-finals last season.

Rotherham United and Towell overcame Shrewsbury Town on Sunday afternoon in the Sky Bet League One final courtesy of a brace from central defender Richard Wood.

The Millers' second goal came in extra time, following 90 minutes of football against the Shrews, which ended all square at 1-1.

Finally, Bank Holiday Monday saw Coventry City and Maguire-Drew seal promotion as they ran out 3-1 winners over Exeter City - the winger joined the Sky Blues on loan back in January.

The trio join Christian Walton in achieveing promotion with their respective loan sides, as the goalkeeper and Wigan Athletic sealed automatic promotion from Sky Bet League One, going up as champions.
