Annual Remf Game This Friday In Lewes

By Adam Tighe • 11 May 2018

The 17th annual Robert Eaton Memorial Fund Match takes place between Brighton & Hove Albion supporters and Crystal Palace fans at the Dripping Pan in Lewes on Friday night.

Kick-off is at 7.45pm and entrance is just £5 for adults and free for under-16s when accompanied by an adult.

The Albion squad features legendary Seagulls striker Peter Ward, as well as Ricky Marlowe, the only player to play in all 17 REMF matches, while the Crystal Palace team features comedian Ben Bailey-Smith a.k.a Doc Brown, who shot to fame after starring in Ricky Gervais’s Life on the Road film.

Albion are managed by life-long Seagulls fan Brett Mendoza, who will be hoping his side can retain the trophy after last year’s 2-1 win.

Mendoza told BrightonandHoveAlbion.com, “It’s going to a great occasion as always. The weather forecast is looking good and the pitch looks great.

“If you’re free on Friday night, it’s only a short hop from Brighton, it’s a competitive game, the bar will be open and you’ll be helping us raise money to get kids into sport.”

The squad have raised just over £6,000 of their £7,000 target. If you’d like to sponsor them, you can do so by clicking here.
