Albion To Visit Swansea Or Bristol City In Premier League Cup

By Kieran Cleeves • 22 March 2018

Brighton & Hove Albion’s under-23s have been drawn against either Swansea City or Bristol City in the quarter-finals of the Premier League Cup, with Simon Rusk’s team playing away from home.

The Seagulls beat Everton 3-0 in the last 16 of the competition, after progressing out of the group stage in second place - but Rusk’s team will now wait on the result of Swansea City v Bristol City, to find out where they’ll be travelling.

There could be a repeat of last season’s quarter-final meeting against Swansea City in Wales, however if the Swans are able to progress, the Seagulls will be looking to come out on top this time around - having lost 1-0 to the eventual champions at the Landore Training Centre.

As with the round of 16, knockout ties will be one-off matches, decided by extra-time and possibly penalties if  teams are level after 90 minutes.

The quarter-final dates will be confirmed in due course, but they are scheduled to be played between Friday 6th April and Monday 9th April.

Here’s the complete quarter-final draw:

Sheffield United/Derby County v Newcastle United

Leicester City v Wolverhampton Wanderers

Swansea City/Bristol City v Brighton & Hove Albion

Middlesbrough v Aston Villa
