Brighton & Hove Albion have agreed to sign England under-23 international midfielder Jodie Brett from Everton on undisclosed terms.

The 22-year-old becomes the third women’s team signing of the summer, and joins on a one-year deal.

Albion first-team manager Hope Powell said, “We are delighted to bring Jodie into the club.

“She has already gained some valuable experience having featured for both Chelsea and Everton in the top flight, and will add to our existing midfield options in the squad.

“I’m very much looking forward to working with her in the upcoming season.”

Brett began her career at Chelsea after joining the club at the age of nine, and was in the squad which won the FA WSL 1 title and the FA Women’s Cup in 2015.

The midfielder went on loan to Bristol City for the 2016 season and was part of the Robins’ promotion-winning squad, before moving to Everton last year.

Brett has also represented England up to under-23 level, and captained the under-19 side that played in the 2015 European Championships, where she was named in the Squad of the Tournament.
