Programme Archive: 2010/11 Season

By Kieran Cleeves • 06 January 2018

Now available on the Programme Archive are the season’s worth of home programmes from Brighton & Hove Albion’s final campaign at the Withdean Stadium - one which ended in League One glory.

Under the management of Gus Poyet, the Seagulls took England’s third tier by storm, sealing their fourth promotion, and third championship title, during their 12-season spell at the Withdean.

Programme-wise, the season began with a four-page issue for July’s pre-season friendly against Aberdeen - and some 27 games later, including four cup matches, a 100-page special closed an emotional chapter at the Withdean.

Huddersfield Town were Albion’s last opponents at the ‘Theatre of Trees’, and despite losing 3-2 to the Terriers, Poyet’s impressive side lifted the League One trophy on the pitch after the game.

Albion’s first cup game was against Leyton Orient in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy, before a hat-trick of FA Cup ties against Woking, FC United of Manchester and Portsmouth later on in the season.

As well as keeping tabs of Albion’s fantastic season before moving to the Amex, the programmes also covered the construction of the club’s new stadium, as the finishing touches were put in place.
