Albion in the Community are currently recruiting for a cross curricular teacher to join our high performing education department. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and passionate qualified teacher to join a charity who through the power of football, are committed to delivering high quality, accessible opportunities that improve the health and wellbeing, education and aspirations of our community.

This role will be responsible for delivering high quality interventions that use football and the club brand, to help raise achievement and attainment, specifically in literacy, numeracy, enterprise and PSHE (personal, social, health and economic education). They will also be responsible for developing networks and relationships with local schools, particularly with a focus on recruitment to post-16 education programmes.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about using football to support young people to be the best they can be. The successful candidate will need to be adaptable as no two days will be the same. The role can vary from delivering football-themed literacy interventions with primary school pupils one day to working with disengaged secondary school students to raise their aspirations and confidence the next.

Applicants must have a Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised teaching qualification. Successful applicants will also have good knowledge, understanding and previous experience of teaching within sport and education and of the National Curriculum and UK education policies. We are looking for applicants that have a passion for football and excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office. Successful candidates must have an outstanding overall level of numeracy and literacy, the ability to inspire pupils of different ages, ability levels and backgrounds and the confidence to liaise with senior school staff.

This is a full-time, fixed-term contract until 31 December 2020. This role will be responsible for the development and delivery of two education projects funded by the Premier League (PL) and Professional Footballers Association (PFA) and building links and pathways across AITC’s education programmes that cater for 5-19 year olds.
