Brown Returns To Chelsea

By Paul Camillin • 10 January 2018

Brighton & Hove Albion will be without Izzy Brown, after the Chelsea loanee returned to his parent club, following a torn anterior cruciate knee ligament.

Brown picked up the injury in Monday night’s FA Cup third-round tie with Crystal Palace at the Amex. A knee scan confirmed the injury, and Brown will now return to Chelsea for assessment and treatment.

Manager Chris Hughton said, "It's one we didn't expect. It's really disappointing news for all concerned, but obviously more for Izzy than anyone else.

"He's a young lad who has made a really good impression at the club and in the second half of the season he would have played more games.

“It’s still very fresh for everyone, but we are grateful to Chelsea for the loan, and to Izzy for the impact he has made during the first half of the season.”

Brown, who turned 21 on Sunday, joined Albion in the summer, he made 14 senior appearances for the club during his time on the south coast.
