ALBION WIN PREMIER LEAGUE PROGRAMME OF THE SEASON AWARD

2 January 2018

Albion's matchday magazine has won another award.

Brighton & Hove Albion’s matchday magazine has been voted Premier League Programme of the Season for 2017/18.

Awarded each January by Programme Monthly, Albion took top spot this year – ahead of West Bromwich Albion and Stoke City – and it caps another award-winning season for the programme team, having previously finished top of the pile in the Championship on two separate occasions, winning both the Programme Monthly and Football League awards.

This season’s publication has maintained its £3.50 cover price, but has returned to a perfect-bound format, increased to 100 pages, and now includes an additional Young Seagulls pull-out section.

“It’s always nice to be recognised in this way,” said Albion’s publications editor Luke Nicoli. “A lot of hard work, long hours and dedication goes into producing each issue of our matchday magazine, but we’re fortunate to have a very professional team to call upon – and I believe that is reflected in the quality of the product.

“In the ever-changing world of digital media, it’s always a challenge to come up with a publication that provides an alternative for our fans come matchday, and the feedback we’ve had this season has been excellent. We’ve also received plenty of compliments from opposing teams, too, which is always encouraging to hear.

“I’d like to thank our contributors – written and photographic – our production and design teams and, of course, the Albion players and management for being so accommodating. It’s nice to know we’ve got a Premier League publication for a Premier League football club!”

In their press release that accompanied the award, Programme Monthly stated: ‘Returning to a perfect bound format for 2017/18, this is a top-notch publication. Unusually there are a large number of interviews with members of the current squad, while the historical section is packed with lots of quality as well as quantity. A high standard of design also enhances some excellent content’.
