Albion Loan Round-up

By Alex Stedman • 22 January 2018

Christian Walton conceded his first league goal since returning to current loan club Wigan Athletic on Saturday, as the Latics stayed top of League One with a 3-1 win over Plymouth Argyle at Home Park.

It took a penalty from Graham Carey to beat the Albion stopper and end his run of seven consecutive clean sheets in League One - the Seagulls youngster has yet to lose a game for Paul Cook’s men.

Jordan Maguire-Drew played 66 minutes of Coventry City’s 3-1 win over Swindon Town at the Ricoh Arena, where a double from Marc McNulty added to Maxime Biamou’s opening goal, as the Sky Blues maintained their place in the League Two play-off positions.

Elsewhere but in the same division, defender Ben White played the full 90 minutes of Newport County’s 2-1 win over fellow Sussex side Crawley Town on Friday evening at Rodney Parade – the Exiles have an Emirates FA Cup fourth round tie against Tottenham Hotspur to look ahead to this weekend.

Midfielder Oliver Norwood played 64 minutes of Fulham’s 6-0 victory over Burton Albion in the Championship, whilst Soufyan Ahannach made his debut for Sparta Rotterdam in the Eredivisie side’s 3-2 home loss to Excelsior, playing 82 minutes of the contest.
