Programme Archive: 2007/08 Season

By Kieran Cleeves • 07 February 2018

The next instalment of programmes has now been added to the Programme Archive, giving Brighton & Hove Albion supporters the chance to look back at the club's 2007/08 League One season.

It was a season of consolidation for the Seagulls, with Dean Wilkins at the helm. A total of 30 programmes were produced throughout the campaign, starting with friendlies against Fulham and Reading in July 2007 - with the match against the Royals doubled up as a testimonial for Albion stalwart Kerry Mayo.

Cheltenham Town visited the Withdean Stadium no less than three times - once in the league and again in the FA Cup and Johnstone's Paint Trophy.

In League One that year were Nottingham Forest and Leeds United, both of whom were going through difficult times. Also in the same division were Swansea City, who now join Albion in the Premier League.

Another notable milestone came at the start of February in the Crewe Alexandra programme, when a young striker was pictured signing for Albion.

Albion paid £300,000 for Glenn Murray's signature from Rochdale, and some ten years later, following periods away from the club, the experienced forward is back on the south coast banging the goals in for Chris Hughton's team.
