  • The Seagulls are next in action at home to Fulham on Saturday

Brighton & Hove Albion’s under-18s played out a 1-1 draw with Leicester City at the club’s Belvoir Drive training ground on Saturday.

Jayden Onen gave the Seagulls an 18th-minute lead in the East Midlands, before Simranjit Thandi equalised for the Foxes just past the hour mark.

Albion created their first chance of the game when Alex Cochrane’s corner went towards the back post, and Danny Cashman saw his shot deflected over the crossbar.

The deadlock was broken with 14 minutes on the clock, as Onen headed the ball home from Cochrane’s cross towards the back post.

Tareq Shihab then dribbled inside the box, and played a ball out to Mamadou Kone, and his shot was cleared before Cochrane fired the loose ball over the target.

Onen narrowly failed to add to his tally in an almost carbon copy of the first goal, as he met Cochrane’s corner at the far post, but headed wide on this occasion.

But Leicester restored parity to the scoreline when Thandi headed home from Conor Tee’s corner in the 61st minute.

Columbus Ibeh then fired over from just inside the box from a tight angle in a bid to restore Albion’s lead, but the game finished 1-1 and the spoils were shared.
