Locadia's Special Strike

Brighton & Hove Albion striker Jurgen Locadia explained that it was a dream come true to make his Premier League debut and is delighted with his start to life at the club.

The Dutchman followed up a goal on his debut in the Emirates FA Cup win over Coventry, with another strike after coming off the bench against Swansea City, and is pleased to have found his rhythm so quickly after a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

He said, "This is special. I was dreaming about playing in the Premier League, the day finally came and it was a crazy way to make my debut.

"It's a big moment. Scoring on your debut is a crazy feeling. It's a good start but it's a team performance, it's not only me. The team played very well and luckily I was able to score.

"So far it's going very well, I haven’t played any games since last December. The best way to get my shape is to play games, so I am happy with the ten minutes on Saturday.”

Locadia also reflected on the Swansea game as a whole and believes he is adjusting well to life at the club both on and off the pitch.

"We played very well, and some good football. We created a lot of opportunities in the second half, more than the first half and it's a shame we got a goal against us, but I think we did a good job.

"I like the way we play, the system that we play and the ideas of the trainers. Everybody knows their job and what they need to do, when we have the ball and when we lose the ball.

"The city is also very nice. I like the fans, the people at the club and the training facilities are perfect, so I think I am in a good place right now.”
